There are different types of lube and it can be hard to decide what type you need. Here's the breakdown: water-based lube have a low risk of irritation and can be used with condoms and silicone sex toys, but they may need to be reapplied often. Silicone-based lubes are very slick, but can't be used with silicone toys since it will cause them to break down over time. Oil-based lubricants (think coconut oil) can't be used with condoms, but are great for severe dryness.
